2nd ACM SIGCHI CHIGreece-Cyprus Chapters Symposium 2026

We are pleased to invite submissions to the 2nd ACM SIGCHI CHIGreece-Cyprus Chapters Symposium 2026, a  symposium bringing together the Greek and Cypriot research communities, as well as international researchers and practitioners working in Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Responsible AI, and Emerging Technologies.

Building on the spirit of CHIGreece & CHICyprus Chapters - Connect. Engage. Inspire. - the joint symposium aims to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation across disciplines, providing a platform to present and discuss cutting-edge research and ideas shaping the future of human-centered technology.

Theme and Scope

The symposium focuses on advancing research and practice at the intersection of humans and technology, with particular emphasis on:

  • Shaping a Sustainable Future with HCI, Responsible AI, and Emerging Technologies
  • Human-centered, Responsible, and Emerging Intelligent Technologies
  • Long-term sustainable approaches to HCI design and innovation

We welcome contributions with emphasis on young researchers, students, researchers, practitioners and designers, interested in exploring how emerging technologies can be designed and deployed responsibly, inclusively, and sustainably.

This meeting will celebrate the World Usability Day 2026, focused on the theme “Designing a Sustainable Future with Ethical AI”, featuring a number of expert panel discussions on related and timely topics. In addition, upcoming ACM SIGCHI CHIGreece-Cyprus Chapters activities will be highlighted like the 4th International Conference ACM CHIGreece 2027, September 27-30, 2027, in Thessaloniki, add CHICyprus activity.

Dates and Format

The 2nd ACM SIGCHI CHIGreece-Cyprus Chapters Symposium 2026 will take place on November 6-7, 2026 (Friday-Saturday).

  • November 6: Hybrid event with physical presence in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Nicosia, interconnected via live remote participation.
  • November 7: Fully remote, if required, depending on the number of submissions.

Submission Format

Submissions should include:

    • An abstract (150-300 words)
    • A poster (PDF format)

Submissions are expected to present research ideas, work in progress, innovative concepts, or early-stage results relevant to the symposium themes.

Poster Requirements (PDF)

Contributors should also prepare a one-page poster (PDF) for publication on the symposium website and presentation during the event. Posters may be structured (but not limited)  as follows:

  1. Research Title
  2. Author(s) (young) researchers and affiliation(s)
  3. A short paragraph describing:
    • background
    • research program
    • stage of research
  4. Research objectives and research question(s)
  5. Motivation, including relevance and connection to the state of the art
  6. Main contributions to the field
  7. Innovation potential, applications, and advancement of current knowledge
  8. Proposed methodology
  9. Implementation approach, including context and technologies
  10. Experimental design, evaluation criteria, sample, and data (or preliminary results if available)
  11. Expected impact and added value
  12. Current progress, future research plan, and open questions for discussion

Poster Format

While no strict template is required, authors are encouraged to use a vertical A0 format.
